Torres found her little girl with a white cloth strung around her neck and dangling from the metal shower door frame. Williams was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead 12 minutes after she arrived.
Williams then reportedly could not cope with the birth of her half-sibling. Torres had the baby eight months ago with her husband.
According to police, Williams fared well in school and was not the victim of bullying.
If Williams’ death is categorized as a suicide, she will be the second child to have taken her own life in the borough in less than a year.
