A 28-year-old mother was assaulted and kicked out of a Shoprite in Pretoria, Sunnyside for complaining about cockroaches on the baby food aisle.

Jane said she only told one of the workers about the cockroaches politely and she was told she has a big mouth and she was told to go shop elsewhere. “I was told to get out and go shop where there is no cockroaches, when I resisted two male workers pushed me and I fell with my baby, I had to land with my elbow to protect my child”

According to Jane after she fell they snatched her phone and tried to delete the photos she had taken but it was locked.

The store manager was apparently attending personal issues during the incident. Jane is planning to sue the supermarket and she will be wearing an orthopedic cast for three weeks.

Sunnyside police had confirmed that a female had opened a case of assault against two Shoprite workers.
