President Jacob Zuma said this morning that since a majority of South Africans are black and are Zulu speaking people, he has decided that all his speeches will be written and delivered in Zulu from now on.
“This was not an easy call to make, I spent more than six months thinking about this move. It was a very difficult decision. I struggle a lot with numbers and English, so I chose a language I am comfortable with. And anyways, most South Africans can understand Zulu. As I speak to you my good journalists, I am actually speaking to you in English for the last time. A will also be addressing you in Zulu next time. I will speak Zulu until I step down.” said President Zuma.
